This update focuses on making NPC Map Locations as future-proof and extensible as possible with compatibility with other mods.
Changes
General
General
- All indoor locations are now located automatically, even if they are custom locations as long as there is tracking for the outdoor location it's in and there is a valid warp into that indoor location. As a result, you may notice that characters are not perfectly centered within indoor locations on the map as they were before when they were located manually. This is still a much better solution in the long-run.
- The default key binding for dragging the minimap 'Alt' has been changed to 'Ctrl' to avoid conflicts with other keybindings.

- There are now two different types of configs: global config and per-save config.
- Global configs affect all saves, and include settings like key bindings, character marker offsets, etc.
- Per-save configs are the remaining settings that can be changed through the mod-menu in game.
- Configs no longer deal with things like adding support for custom locations. More below.
Restructure
- Instead of 'assetsmaps', now it's just 'maps'. Extract recolor maps from Optional Files into 'ModsNPCMapLocationsmaps'.
- Each folder in the maps folder contain all necessary compatibility files for the respective mod it is for. These can be found in Optional Assets or the separate download for SVE. Most users should not touch any of these files.
- The special config for SVE is no longer in 'config'. Instead, it is in the respective map folder for SVE as 'customlocations.json'.

As I'm winding down on further development of SDV mods, I will no longer make specialized updates for compatibility with other mods, hence why I'm pushing for more open-source contributions. I hope you understand, and thank you in advance to all those that can contribute.
- CustomMapTextures has been removed. Use Content Patcher instead.

- More error handling to prevent game crashes from 'content file not found' errors.

- SMAPI 2.11.3 now supports previous versions of SMAPI 3.0.0-alpha, so NPC Map Locations for SMAPI 3.0.0-alpha has been removed as the main files already support it.
